OUR STORY
Established in 2017 by Stephen Lothian, Lothian Plans has evolved from a local practice to a renowned name in the Lothian’s for small scale domestic, architectural services. Our journey began with a commitment to integrating a simple offering for clients who know what they want designed and built.
Not many people know that in a typical Architect’s practice, the Architect will take a brief from the client, create some designs and then pass the chosen design on to the in house architectural technicians, who then produces the working drawings that get the building warrant and are then used for construction.
Our offering of an architectural drafting service gives clients who know what they want, the ability to be the designer and cut out the architect (middle man) to get a more efficient service where we most often save people time and money.
Our team of experienced architectural technicians, work closely with structural engineers and other professionals, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and outstanding results. With a collaborative approach and a keen eye for detail, we work together to bring YOUR vision to life, ensuring every project is executed to the highest standard.
One of the main benefits of working with us, is that Stephen also used to be a builder! He went back to college aged 21 to do an Adult apprenticeship in Bricklaying, spending many years “on the tools” building small scale domestic projects such as Extensions and Conversions and doing internal alterations including wall removals. So we understand exactly how a build works from the initial idea, right through to completion!
He has found that the knowledge he has gained as a builder benefits his clients hugely as he understands the quickest and most cost effective options available for them increasing efficiency in their building projects.
The other benefit is that Lothian Plans has a fantastic network of different tradesmen and builders that can accompany their architectural services for their clients and assist greatly in helping with getting the building work taken care of for them.
